WHAT ABOUT OUR NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS?

ENKELE GOEDE VOORNEMENS

*Let's study harder from now on (really!)

*Save money for travelling in Korea and Asia

*Go back to Belgium at least one time before the end of 2014

*Visit my beloved family and friends in Viet Nam!

*Cook more often

*Don't buy a lot of shoes

*But instead buy a small oven to be able to make oven dishes and cheesecake

*Read my books I brought with me

*Wear warmer clothes to not catch a cold

*Think less about unimportant things

*What about your New year's resolutions? Did you make any?

SOME UPDATES

*I have passed my midterm exams of Korean! :)

*My cold has officially left my body!

*Aan mama, papa, Felix, Eline, Liesbeth en Hannes, Tu en Koré een dikke merci want ik heb jullie post goed ontvangen. Soms duurde wel verschrikkelijk lang en werd het wachten ondragelijk! ;)

*I'm going to Jeju Island ("The Korean Hawaii") for one week during the next holidays in february ! Joepie!!!

SOME REMARKABILITIES

*Almost every room has a floor heating system called 'ondol' (온돌). Almost all restaurants where you are supposed to sit on the floor have this kind of heating system. Furthermore it's quite normal to have floor heating in Korean living rooms. That's why my room also has it! And with a cold bodied roommate I'm experiencing it every day. No more cold feet, but don't leave bags on the floor, especially not with chocolates inside.

*We are still alive after Kim Jong-Il's acceptance into the North-Korean heavens. (I've heared that on our Gwanak mountain on campus, the Korean army has stationed some legerafdeling. And it's commonly known that inside Gwanak mountain there is a concrete tunnel, which is seen as the safest place in S-Korea. But I guess when war breaks out or when a nuclear bomb will surprise us, they will give shelter priority to our smart professors and president... instead of some Belgian girl living on some government scholarship money who's Korean skills are not that great by the way).

*They really eat KIMCHI with everything (I'm still amazed, even after four months)

*When and whenever you go out eating you always get many sidedishes, which I (and many other people) cannot finish... What a waste of food!

I'm posting some pictures from the past two, three months that I haven't post yet.
